It all depends what you are searching for and where the data is held. Do you want to search across the rows, down the columns or somewhere else? Do you want to search direct from the database records? What are the parameters used as input to the search?

See how it works?

First, you must know how are you going to search in your database. So, by default (I think), you want to search on a particular column, right? If this is the case, then you must know what column you want to conduct your search.

You meant to filter datagridview using the text in some textbox?

Maybe this one will help you.

In this one: [SQL in ten minutes], you will understand queries which you can use to interact with your database. All you have to do is to study this and you'll know how to save and search data from your database.
