@OriginalGriff:But even we having some other compiler why we are not preferring other complier's like ECJ,GNU??????????

Sun's is the only one authorised by Sun Microsystems, and they control the Java spec. So it makes sense that a lot of people will use it.
In the same way, Microsoft control .NET and C#, but Mono exists - but most people don't use it because they can use the "official" one.

No. Java support many compiler, but javac compiler is officially compiler by sun
