Is it possible to do a cross domain POST request?

The title says it all...

Is there any hack/work around to do a cross domain POST in JavaScript (ie from the client side)?

I have googled and found that you can POST using an IFRAME trick but you can't see whats it returned in a reply...I need to know whats in the reply as well.
