how to login and logout in home page?

Can you pls be clear on the requirement to help you out with..
*Do you need a login page?Logout page?
*What means by Homepage?After loging in it redirects to a homepage or ?
*Do you want the button text to be changed ?(from login to logout)
*Are you using Master page ?

for example gmail account am not used master page, in first page mentioned login button, after that once login next page i want logout button in login button place

Solution 2

If you are using single button as logout and login , just set the Text accordingly once the user logs in and logs out.

If its 2 different buttons, set the visibility true/false.

One more option is to use LoggedInTemplate with a logedinStatus control
