What is the logic for Share this Page Pluggin?

For every web page we get Share this page pluggin containing links for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc.. which redirect us to facebook page in new tab when we click facebook.
I need logic that how facebook get to know that which web page is currently referred to share or like.

It will be more helpful if you share the logic or code in C# and ASP.Net.
