1) why do we use MDI from in desktop application??

2) I have to design multiple pages in which header section and left side of the every page will be same in every page.The header section and left side of the page contain multiple controls. what should be the approach to design the page.

1) Because, amongst other reasons, you would have a "main" form that acts as the underlying main "thread" for the other forms, thereby if you close said form, you will close all the other "child" forms. Its also easier to maintain a common look and feel.
