One approach is to add a smoothing function to smooth out the frame by frame jitters. The smoothing function would be on the calculated coordinates for the mouse pointer. So one type of smoothing function would say that the new x,y mouse pointer coordinates is a function of the newly calculated coordinates from the head tracker and, say, the last three sets of mouse pointer coordinates. Thus, even though the head tracker jitters, the mouse pointer wouldn't.

Another approach, of course, is to develop a more stable head tracker.
