Dear all,

I am assigned to develop a project which is Msg and file transfer over LAN in VB/VB.net. Since I am new to vb.net so I don't know how to start and where to get finished. requesting all to help me to understand the concepts technically and guide me to develop the code. kindly response me at the earliest. ~~email id surae31@ymail.com~~

So, you've pretty much asked everyone here to write a couple of hundred forums posts to teach you all the concepts and design your app for so you can write this app. That's just not going to happen.

Forums are for asking specific questions when you get stuck with a specific problem in your code. Asking such a broad question is a forum just is not practical as it would involve writing a small book to answer it.

If you don't know where to start, you don't have the prerequisite knowledge to start this project. I hope you don't have a deadline to complete this by because chances are you're not going to make it.

I suggest you pick up books on "VB.NET for Beginners", "Learning WCF" and "TCP/IP Sockets". You can find a bunch of these book at Amazon.

If this is too confusing for you, then sure - Dave has it right. Spend some time reading up on it.
