How can I add numbers to existing one in a database and save from Monday to Friday only?

Pls am trying to design a system in asp.Net vb. i want a case whereby the user will get units added to his total units daily. Let say i signup and i have 20points, from Monday to Friday the user will get 2points each, but on saturdays-sundays no points will be addeds.
I really need help on how to achive this since the user have to trigger the event am really confused.

In the singup method just validate the day of today and update his/her points. thats all.

You could use the WeekDay function to know which day you are signing in and act accordingly.
