Oracle data restore problem

which file or directory should be store as a databackup before formating the server or hardisk from oracle direcoty and how can resotre the data after installing the oracle. I am using Oracle10g. Please suggest with full details. Thanks

You can use the Backup Wizards in Oracle Enterprise Manager to conduct backup and restore. For more information, check out the Oracle documentation.
