C# - user misuse software

hello friends...

my project was on c# ..it has one exe and one license manager..i am new in c#
on 2021 i give exe to my user...( files contains exe and config.ini)
config.ini is where my license key is stored
in this exe drawback is that user rollback the software and use unlimited

on 2022 i created exe and solved my rollback problem....

now what user did that -- i send hin new exe and config.ini
he use old exe and config.ini so how to prevent that......

i simple change the assemble version...
and nothing did any thing

Be creative. Tell your user the old software had a critical bug, fixed in the new version. :-D

Solution 1

Add new features that make it worth it for your customer to upgrade.

There is nothing you can do to stop the old exe from running if you did not build in any functionality for this BEFORE handing it out.
