Can you do it? Is there a programming language you can use to write stuff you can embed into MySQL similarly to how you can create CLR stored procedures and functions in SQL Server, or Java stored procedures in Oracle?

What I have tried:

Every time I look online, I get results about how to embed MySQL into a C++ program, but of course, that's the wrong way around...

It seems that at the moment no other languages are supported than SQL.

The LANGUAGE characteristic indicates the language in which the routine is written. The server ignores this characteristic; only SQL routines are supported.

There seems to be a worklog item for this but no further info about it yet, see MySQL :: WL#820: Stored procedures: in external language[^]
