How to get data from SQL database with PHP then display it on the screen?

I want to store user input data in a database then retrieve it and display it on the screen using PHP and SQL.

What I have tried:

I have tried lots of things, but I am new to SQL and I really want a simple answer. All the tutorial sites go through complicated processes that are hard to understand for a beginner. I am not asking anyone to write up a bunch of code for me, but I am asking for plain basics. Thanks in advance!

That is not an easy question to answer. There are many tutorials on PHP and SQL available, for example PHP Tutorial[^] and SQL Tutorial[^]. Both of these start from fundamentals and are well worth the time.
