Need to run Windows 8 application on windows 7 os

Hi all,

Question may look silly but i want to know is it possible to.....
My friend created some sample application for Windows 8 OS, cool is'nt?
I want to see the applications how it works,and dig deep into it....
Unfortunately i have windows 7 installed on my machine.

Is it possible to run windows 8 application onto my machine?
or can i use any third party softwares to adapt the application that suits to my machine?
Please do not say, buy windows 8 os and install it to get rid of this.
I want other options to make it work.

Please respond ASAP.

Solution 1

you may use virtual machine like Vmware Workstation or virtualbox,and this is the best option to run windows 8.
Also If you have the source code of that application(if metro application) you will also need a Visual Studio 2012 to debug and run.

ya ,you can also try dual boot but vmware helps to run both the windows at the same time as it loads the windows as a application. if you want windows 8 you can try some torrents to get it. and if you want real original one to run a application thats a silly but can try trial. I think that suits you better I'm also using XP as virtual.

Without downloading Win8 or using Win8 OS is it possible to run?

You have to download that windows 8 as a new windows but you can use it without formating your system. and can use it as a application like you use Internet Explorer in windows 7.
