You never submitted a query to 'me'

I would assume that the Referer field of the request header would contain 'http://www.google.com' or something similar. Clicking on the question title for this question once already viewing it, then checking the request headers results in this:

Referer:http://www.codeproject.com/Questions/468891/how-is-a-query-submitted-to-you-by-a-user-comes-na

Clicking a link from a google search shows that the following is present in the request headers.

Referer:http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCMQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Frobertnyman.com%2F2010%2F03%2F22%2Fcss-pointer-events-to-allow-clicks-on-underlying-elements%2F&ei=ALBpUK6VGe2ZmQWiuIDIDQ&usg=AFQjCNH23QKMVe7HK_0ovrcUhJeEFTP6lQ

EDIT: The search term for the google search that returned the results page that I clicked the link from was: "pointer-events: none opera"
