I have installed sqlserver2005 in windows xp but am not geting servername ,when am open mangementstudio ther name will apper can plz explain me what is the problem

This is not a good question - we cannot work out from that little what you are trying to do.

Hey! I'm Not able to make out what exactly the question is, but if you're trying to get the instance name of SQL Server 2005 then you can check the solution I provided.

goto start --> All Programs --> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -->Configuration Tools --> SQL Server Configuration Manager.

It will open SQL Server Configuration Manager

goto Sql Server Services -- and in right Panel you will see Instance name of your sql as

Sql Server (SqlExpress) where SqlExpress is the instance name.

Go to new Query ->

Type this........Select @@Servername

Execute it(F5)
