how to stop the current function from executing in asp.net

when i was uploding a big file using fileupload control it takes time, suppose i want to cancel this process but when i click cancel button this will not stop the file uploding operation it continues till file is uplodaed successfully.But i want to stop this operation on cancel button what can i do?

As far as I know, FileUpload control doesn't have a 'Cancel' button. What control are you using to upload the file?
