My Query is:
communicating with hardware using java technology via comm port where the external device will be GSM modem or any other.

I am trying to communicate with external hardware device (i.e. GSM Modem) using java code through comm port using serial cable RS232. i am tried. and it only detecting the comm port list...
but fails to open..
Am actually trying to open that comm port and i want to send data through RS232 cable to the GSM modem...
(i imported the javax.comm packages, RXTX libraries and dll libraries which are required for communication)...
Thank You...

How does it "fail to open"?

And just to be sure - how did you verify that the GSM device uses a comm port and how did you determine which one it uses?
