I'm designing and developing an appraisal system using C#4.0, SQL Server 2008 and ASP.NET I'm a novice with around 1 years experience of these tools.

I want to be able to create multiple objectives for an employee and store them in a SQL Server 2008 db. I want to create objectives dynamically so I only use 1 ASP page to enter/save/display information, but pull in the objectives depending on the navigation (there is no fixed limit on the number of objectives an employee may have).

For example, I click a Create Objective button, the page displays the correct new objective number, I can then fill in the fields on the form and save it, create a new one, move ot the next or previous one, delete an objective etc.

Please can you advise the best way to design this application from the database perspective?

Hi,

Now days you should not care about the database scheme that much, because with the ASP.Net entity-framework[^] can take care about the best way to design the database. It uses a uses a code first approach, the entity-framework does all the plumbing for you ;-)
