How to send mails automatically in asp.net

Hai,

Here i am developing one website in asp.net using c#, in that i want to send mails to others on particular interval, By using timer its working, but i want to send mails if that website is not opened in browser also. Is there any way to do that? e.g if we subscribe any news, or horoscope daily we r getting their. How they are sending that?
