Hi!

I wonder if the .NET 4 has a standard Ribbon component. Im using Visual Studio 2010, could anyone state where to search? (if it exists in there)

Thanks

Nope - you have to search the articles here or search to buy a third party component.

You should always search Code Project[^], especially when someone has told you that you should try that.

Is it very hard to write your own one?

Hard for whom ? It's sufficiently non trivial that companies sell them. No-one sells something if a programmer could reasonably be expected to write it in an afternoon.

I mean only the ribbon component. Large component developers like DevExpress and Syncfusion sell the entire collection of all components they develop only 1-2% of which is to be used by a specific customer(at least this is the case with me). So I only need to start learning to attain the level when Im able to write my own Ribbon control (only that one). So Im trying to get the idea whether this even makes no sense or not...

The process is the same for writing any sort of UI control like that. Most people buy a library like that b/c they want one or two controls. It's not a trivial task, but it's an interesting one. I doubt you want to 'start learning' to try to write something like this with the intent of using it though.

See my edit. There WAS a component for free on this site.
