That is A very general question, and without specifics from you about what kind of author info in what application / website your are talking about, I shall assume it is this site.

1) In the top right hand corner of this page is your user name - hover the mouse over it.
2) Select "My Settings" and click once.
3) In the page which appears, select the "About You" tab.
4) Edit your bio as necessary.
5) Press the "Save my Settings" button.

If this isn't what you are talking about, what is?
