How to develop a web service [steps ]?

Hello everyone I recently learned C# launguage and ASP.NET 4.0. I covered all its tutorial throughly and had a strong grasp of the concept.

Now i have an Idea in my mind about developing an application whose prototype i have designed as follows...
It would be a service available at suppose www.xyz.com Any one can go to this site and register himself. after registration a varfication email is sent to his email address. Once registered he can then view latest updates from his facebook account giving his Facebook password to the application. The Facebook updates part can be handled through Facebook APIs. And he has options for his profile edit and logout.
I have a basic knowledge of ASP.NET and C# but don't know how to design this web service. Also i want to develop this service on Visual Web developer and will host it online once completed.

Please suggest me what are the steps, services , methods i should follow to design this service. Plz suggest me as its mine 1st time developing any service.

yeah i wiil try that but its the same... i need a kind of simple demo which shows how client app work and how the serivce files are stored and communicated etc etc

Did you even downloaded and unpacked the source code. What makes your thinking this is not what you need?
