I've been using Showtime Media Centre for the PS3 for a while now and the only thing missing is cover art for the video files. At the moment all you get is a generic movie icon. So my question is would it be possible to write a javascript plugin (as showtime will run javascript plugins) to display a cover instead of the generic icon?

For example, movie.mkv with the cover file being movie.mkv.cover.png

Something like that as I'm prepared to manually create the covers so if there is a match between video and image file it gets displayed.

If its easier to code it in the source for the app is

https://github.com/andoma/showtime[^]

This would be fantastic if someone could get it to work as the covers is not a high priority for the programmer, but I think it is for a lot of users out there.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to pay someone to do work for you, there are sites on the internet that allow you to hire programmers. This is not such a site.

Now, if you want to stop pussyfooting around and use real software on real hardware, try MediaPortal. It's free, runs on Windows, and it comes with built-in support for DVD cover art (jpg only, and the jpg must be the same name as the movie file it's associated with). There are also plugins available that give you lots of info for the given movie.

Oh god - the pain of a 1-vote. Stop acting like a child.

If you read below when you submit it states
