Hi,

I have noticed hundreds (thousands) of files appearing in my software development folders with the extension DSBAK1 and DSBAK2. They appear to be backups of other files in the folders but does anyone know what is generating them and why? More to the point, how do I stop them being created?

I have MSDEV 2008/Source Safe installed but I can't find any info on the Microsoft website as to whether these apps are generating them.

Google seems to think they are Dungeon Siege files? Are you playing it at all?

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

Nope, I dont play any games at all on this PC. The files have the same base filename as the source files in the VC++ projects but with the DSBAK1&2 extension appended.
