Web service instance sharing data

I am pretty sure I know the answer but I need to ask. Is it possible for two apps to be connected through the same instance of a Web Service to share data?

I have an app on a terminal server that I would like to connect directly to an equipment app on the laptop. It would be great to be able to share data directly through the web service without having to go through files or database updates.

I apologize if this is a naive question.

Yes, you already knew the answer. That's not what a web service is for, and it won't do it.
