Hello All,

I would like to have some clarifications about the future of Winforms:

I read the following message from msdn forum:
Just to add my bit - I was at a Microsoft developers event this week where it was confirmed (by MS staff) that no further work will be done on WinForms after .NET 4.0. The recommendation was to seriously consider WPF for new projects (particularly once VS2010 launches).

Will WinForms be deprecated in favor of WPF ?
Can somebody give me his inputs about it ?

Thank you very much in advanced.

Best regards.
MiQi.

Well if that happens then I'll be purely using native code from then on.

I do believe there will be no further new developmental support for Winforms. Although I suppose bug fixing will continue.

Purely a guess though so it might be better if someone who knows more about this comments on it.

What makes you think we have any better insight than people that work at Microsoft? Depending on what day it is and who's blog you're reading, Microsoft is talking about abandoning WPF, Silverlight, and now, Winforms. I guess we'll all soon be out of a job.
