problem in uploading a excel file when i publish site

When I publish my site, and if I upload excel sheet of .xlsx extension it is not taking excel sheet file values in to database, it is throwing an exception.

It is working fine in local system.
Please suggest any answer

you have to post some code and tell us what the exception is. It could be a dozen different problems (or more) so there's no way for us to tell you what the problem is.

For instance, how are you connecting to your database? how are you loading it into the database?

Solution 2

I'm assuming that you probably have Office 2008 or greater on your local system, so it recognizes the xlsx extension. The machine you are publishing to probably does not. Those objects will need to be available to the site on the machine to which you have published.
