How to emulate a scanner from PC

Hi,

I am trying to develop a web application using C# in which we have a physical document(hard-copy) given to the scanner and on clicking a button in the web-application, the document gets scanned on the installed scanner on the PC. i.e., on a button-click, Scanner should be emulated and the document that is given(kept at) to the scanner machine is to be read and scanned on the scanner. Can anyone help me in this regard?
