Database connectivity with server

Hi, I am facing this issue and trying to solve from last two days, but not getting solution

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

In sql server Configuration Manager - SQL server services it shows (The remote procedure call failed [0x800706be]

Please help me,

What is the version of SQL server, is it 2008 or 2012?

Is your firewall off? if not then make it off or open SQL port in firewall

Please check your application and system event logs on database server, there should be some relevant messages.
