Yeah i agree, but do you think that the downvoter will give you a reason if you ask for a reason?;P

Let the system allow the user to poll, only after the user posts a comment.

Then you would get a comment something like this.
"I didnt like this"
"Useless"
"sucks"
"wtf"

What i mean to say that, if you force someone to post a reply when he votes, these kinda nonsence replies will be there instead of constructive critisiism.
And ppl who really wants to give a constructive critisism do give one.

The HTML IMG tag should be supported on these forums.
It is already possible to do it using the DIV tag but this is a very laborious method.
If images are to be allowed, then please make it easy for us.
If not, then images shouldn't be allowed via the DIV tag.
Anyone who wants to add images to their posts:
Just find a post where the SIG contains an image - there are many of them.
Right click and view code.
Copy the code and edit it to point to your image.
There it is!

To keeps things simpler, add only text your sig... adding images to your sig will only make ppl viewing ur posts slower to load.

That is the whole point of my post here. If images sre to be allowed then make them simple via the IMG tag. If they are not wanted - perhaps because of slow load times, then disable the DIV tag in posts to actually get rid of the images.

I downloaded a great source code from Paul J. Weiss titled
"Any Day of the Week Using the Doomsday Rule".
There is a bug there but I just can't find anyway to report it.
Anyone can point me to his email?
Thanks...

Just post a message in the forum for the article in which you obtained the source code.

The date/time shown for posted msgs or articles should follow GMT or atleast show the time zone tht it is following as it is confusing especially for far east CPians.
While some of u r still celebrating easter, i am suffering from monday morning blues after a long weekend.

Actually, I suffer from morning blues every weekday as I am not exactly “early to bed and early to rise” kinda person.
And Monday is the best day of the week because.....

I am new to the forums and playing with the cfgs. I was wondering if there were any settings so the layout would be a vBulletin (or other popular BB's) style?
The current layout just feels unatural to me, like I was back in the late 90's with threaded BB systems. Trust me I do not miss those days

Did you try the different views? I guess most of the users use Dynamic view.

Yes, I tried all of them, but I was hoping I was missing something. Having to click on every post to view it is just not desirable. If I want to read a topic/thread, just give me the page with the whole discussion so I can scroll. I can even get that in newsgroups these days. No more clicking needed.
The amount of participation on this site is very large it seems, except for in the forums. With the amount of user submitted areticles and code you would think these forums would be much busier then they are. I think this is in part due to the retro navigation system and no choice for anything other.

And i dont thing its going to change any sooner. so strap on your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.

When you say supporters. Do you epopel who submit code/articles or is there an option for paid subscruptions that I am missing?
And if it's articles or code that defines who is a supporter, do you have a link to a page explaining the qualification rules? I found the contribute link, but all it mentions is submission formatting, not the benefits of submitting in the first place.

Wasn't there talk a while ago to sell subscriptions so that people could just buy a premium subscription. Because I currently have an MSDN subscription and so I cannot get the supporter status that way.
