Well, even though it's limited, it's still a very good starting point, so thank you very much! Do we have a place to comment/provide feedback on it? Or can I just post in this forum when I run into things?

I'm out here so don't get as much time to wade through the various forums, if it isn't on the first page, or on the frontpage, generally wont see it!
When I'm at home that's a different matter.

Damn! When was this announced?
Or was it just announced to a few select people? If so I am not thrilled at being left out despite being one of the biggest pushers for this for 7-8 years now.

Don't get upset about it. I've asked Chris specifically because I've offered to write a Xamarin cross platform version.

Hey Pete,
I know it's a little thing, but often it's these little things that are subtle indicators to deeper reasons. Assuming they informed you, and possibly a few others too, then I can't imagine it being unintentional that they skipped me. It's almost like telling me, hey, we'd rather not have you write an app using our API.

It was purely accidental. Pure good timing on my part. It's definitely not an intentional slight - more down to me pestering Chris and catching him in an unguarded moment.

Thanks Pete. Chris responded below.

Nish.
I've been at Intel IDF all week so this is late, but I needed to run this by someone who would kick the tyres and to an initial sanity check. No one else has been told of it since it's extremely rough. We don't even have a simple piece of example code.
I have an email drafted to you and a number of others specifically announcing it but I'm not sending it until I have the final rough corners smoothed out. I was hoping that would be this morning but I'm still waiting for once final piece and then we deploy.
cheers

Hey Chris,
Thanks for the update. I did not mean to sound grumpy, although apparently that's what I ended up doing. The API certainly looks promising!

I'd like to have an easier way to keep track of my activity on this site. I use quick answers a lot to answer questions, but I don't have a clear way to keep track of them. I'd like to suggest a mechanism related to how Facebook works for example. As soon as I have commented on, or answered a question, I'd like to 'follow' that question automatically, and receive notifications for all activities that happen to it (new answers, new comments etc.). On Facebook, there's also an option to click 'Stop getting notifications' on a post, which would be great as well.
All this would make it a lot more efficient to keep track of questions that you were involved with.

|
|
|
|
If I turn of notification emails for quick answers in my settings, I also stop seeing notifications in the top right corner of the screen when I'm on the site. Somehow, the two are linked, but the setting should be just about emails, not about not getting any notifications anymore.

In this moment is the first in the list. This article[^] is just an auto-saved draft. Should it not be in edit area / "limbo" until it is clicked to submit?

Happens from time to time - I think it's a synchronisation problem in that the list isn't generated on demand, and the article was removed after the list was built.

Your software is mind boggling. Even though I have entered all fields before submitting the request, it wipes out the country entry and issues a message "Please enter country". I tried 4 times!!

Try again. I fixed the bug yesterday, but just deployed. Make sure you are logged in first. A Windows Update has resulted in issues with user who are not logged in.

I have been using this site for a very long time and today accessed my bookmarks for the site and there is only one where my best guess is I have at least 30 bookmarks. Any thoughts to what happened to my bookmarks.
Update: The bookmarks are not showing in Chrome but do in IE. So I can access my bookmarks in IE.

That says to me that the bookmarks are stored as cookies - IE and Chrome don't share them (nor do FF or Opera, or...)

I have noticed that the report menu of the articles have "images/downloads missing" and "images/downloads are offsite", but these options are missing for the tip/tricks.
Is that intentional? Or were the hamsters hungry and ate the two options?
