I was going to report the following post in the article forum as spam (note: In case the post is gone, I am not stating the article is spam, just this particular post): Connect the Excel Database from C# .Net[^]
However, I am unable to do so because the red flag is not available and neither are the up-/down-vote arrows on any of the other posts.
I have checked this in the following browsers and the behavior is the same:
- Chrome v29
- Firefox v22 and v23
- IE 8 (both Compatibility Mode on and off)
I know it's a minor thing, but just in case this is not the only article with this issue...

There is. If you connect with a mobile device you should land on the mobile version. if you do not: scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Mobile" Link (Bottom Left of the page)

Odd one for you - when I post in this forum from my Nexus 7, it immediately switches to mobile view, and I have to manually scroll all the way down to switch back to Full Site view.
Doesn't seem to happen anywhere else on the site that I've seen.

This report of abuse seems a bit premature to me, but the account has vanished, presumably as a result.
I think the account deserves another chance, His questions are a bit or, but they weren't abuse as far as I can see. Any chase of a reinstatement?

I was thinking that it'd be useful and help users get responses in a timelier fashion if
codeproject had an IRC network. Unfortunately, it would cost money obviously to host it.
But, maybe if codeproject wasn't up for creating a whole network just for codeproject a
channel could be created on a popular IRC network such as Efnet or a similar network?
Just something I think could be useful.

You cannot impose a timetable on people that volunteer their time and effort. The people that volunteer to share their knowledge would most likely just stop answering questions rather then put up with a constant bombardment of people pulling them into chat just to try and get them to do their homework.

I, for one, wouldn't be interested in supporting people via chat. I respond when I have time, and I don't appreciate being interrupted when I am busy elsewhere. I rather suspect you will find this will be the feeling of most of the heavy hitters here ; precisely the people you would want answering the questions,

The first article in the list took me to a page saying this:

So why would this be in the list of articles needing approval?

I see that once in a while. I think it only shows up in the list for a very short period of time.
A couple of weeks ago I saw an article in the moderation queue where it said:
"This is an old version of the currently published article."
[Yes, 'old', not 'new']
That one had me stomped and it actually took some time before I realized what it said. I refresh'ed the page and even opened the article several times and also checked if it was listed under the latest approved articles, but no.
How can a revision of an article to be approved be older than the version already approved? I suppose if it is being rolled back or something, but it was still odd.

If the list of articles to be approved is cached and another version has been posted and approved (eg by an editor) in the interim.

How often is the list of articles to be approved updated on the CP home page?
I am not really asking due to this behavior, but more because I occasionally see several Technical Blog entries appear at the same time.

While i was editing an article of mine, I noticed something peculiar. While i was typing, I wanted to change the text formatting. However, when I highlighted the text I wanted to format, and clicked the Bold Toggle button, nothing happened. The Italics button didn't do anything either.
