Looks like a partial fix, I had to change my routine slightly but I can still trigger it. The only change I've noticed is that when pinning in step 2 it closes the step 1 message. I can still create the 3 open messages (1 pinned) with a few more steps.
1 select a message.
2 Pin an adjacent message.
2.5 Click a second message.
3 Click on the pinned message (the way you'd close it if NOT pinned)
4 click on a 3rd message. You now have 3 open messages, only one of which is pinned.
Related to this, I've managed to get a few message headers to appear without the light orange highlight, instead being the same white as the space between headers when closed. When open the header is colored light orange instead of blue.

CP Team,
I just observed that whilst choosing 'Good Answer' in tech forums, I am getting the following response:
You voted 5. Rating now 5 (votes: 1). Message marked as answered.
I believe, the decision outlined in the latter statement may not be befitting for all questions. We should adopt that through the following channels only:
1) Moderator/Admin decision
2) Asker himself choses a particular comment as a solution to the problem.

1 Quote text from the post being replied to.
2 Paste the link via ctrl-v in the edit box. No encoding happens.
3 enter a normal keystroke (what key seems to be irrelevant)
4 past the link. This time it is encoded.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Navigate to Soapbox 2.0 from Lounge or anywhere.
2) Now depress the CTRL key. The Link keeps toggling between Lounge and Soapbox (and the status bar toggles between lounge.aspx and 1536756.
3) Backroom is now invisible
Anyone else facing this issue?
Update: I have sent a screenshot from 'The Soapbox 2.0' page highlighting the issue to webmaster@codeproject.com.
Update: I have also verified now that 'The Backroom' is available from any of the active messages from some one's profile and 'Messages Post' link. I have also updated the subject of the message to better reflect what is breaking down and the degree of failure.

As long as the control key remains depressed, the menu is shown in its alternate state right? Perhaps if you could substantiate your experience with the web browser and version that you are using, it would be helpful for a CP design member to investigate the issue and arrive at a cross-browser compatible solution quickly.

The answer to your query depends on what you mean by 'Editor'.
So errr..., what do you mean by 'Editor'?

Aman,
You should first have a look at this page http://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/Types.aspx[^] which walks through the different types of membership available in CodeProject.
It explains fairly well on the responsibility of the task besides to an extent, the modus operandi adopted to select the members from the website's vast registration and participants.

Would it be possible to to keep the pinned messages when replying?
Like this you can easily quote from different messages.
|
|
|
|
|
You mean after you reply and then go back to the message list, the pinned messages are preserved?

I think he means what you call "in-line replying", which I wouldn't mind having...

I think its what luc said
Basically say you have pinned message and the first reply.
And when you hit reply on the first reply you get the message and the reply in the reply page so that you can easily quote from both the message and the reply.

I think I have a better solution to this problem.
