You appeared to be shifting the blame for your inability to make yourself understood to me. I asked you to explain what you meant as it didn't make much sense to me. If you wish to take the piss, feel free, I welcome it but at least make yourself understood; so far your ability to elucidate appears to be sadly lacking. On the other hand, perhaps it's me having a thicko moment. Either way, it is simply impolite not to clarify when asked to do so.

I apologised in the 1st post when I said I wasn't going to bother to explain(so I'm not being rude and we could have skipped all this nonsense in between). I knew if I did explain it wouldn't have been left like that, you would have argued that I meant something else, like I say been down that road and I've seen you take others down there too. Even now I'm drawn into a lengthy conversation which isn't worth having. You didn't understand, it REALLY wasn't important and is REALLY not worth explaining and I Really don't care if it's mine or your fault, I just didn't want to be still going over it 2 days later but here I am( even this you are failing to understand despite repeating it 2 or 3 times now).

I just found this question[^] (albeit on the second page of Q&A) that had a mention it was modified 9 hours earlier by a certain Boris Fisher[^]. The accout is no longer actice nor is there any trace of a modification on said question (no solution nor updates or edits).
Can the update time of a Q&A entry be reset to its previous state when the reason for that update to its last modification time has ceased to exist?
It appears to me that this could be just to much effort for such a rare occurrence, but I thought I should bring it to your attention.

In March, when I enabled my ad-blocker, CP gave me a message that my ads were disabled.
One part of the message said that the ads would be on-topic, so that they've to do with programming/software developing/...
After reading that, I disabled my ad-blocker for CP, but today I got an ad about a travel to London.
If that message was telling me that the ads would be on-topic, why do I get an off-topic ad like that?

We're experimenting with a new ad provider to see what their ads are like. Unfortunately the options for blocking ads are pretty basic so we have two choices: block a (small) subset of advertisers and let the rest go through (while watching and ensuring ads are sensible) or go the painful way and approve each ad to be shown individually.
At this point I'm going to push for Box B. All I ask is you be patient as we work with the new supplier.

Same here just now. Culprit is home24.de and it's an advertisement about furniture. Not exactly what I had expected to find on CP. 
Curious as I am I'd like to know what the problem was with your previous provider, as I didn't notice any glitches like that before. It could well be that this Kind of discussion is not suitable for a public forum though, I guess.

We sell in-house via our DeveloperMedia business and that's totally under our control (and we're anal about who we allow on) but we're constantly looking at new clients and advertising suppliers. We tried these guys a few months ago, turned them off, left them, and are now trying them again.
It's a test. We'll adjust, try again, rinse, repeat.

Nah - talking about the ads we show is important. The ads pay the bills, but more importantly we want the ads to be on things that are relevant to you. Software and services are the obvious ones, but I buy gadgets, so I personally want to see ads for computers, tablets, phones, gadgets for my bike, gadgets for the office. I read, so ads for books on topics I enjoy, and that extends beyond computing to general science. I also travel a bit, so anything geeky that can make my trips more enjoyable is definitely OK by me.
And then what about the stereotypical developer diet? Do we show pizza and beer ads? Jolt cola? What about ergonomic furniture, gym memberships? Games and gaming rigs? I draw the line at dating ads though. Statistically developers are more likely to be married, and stay married, so I refuse to pander to inaccurate stereotypes.
What would you like to see?
