Unfortunately, there is no ZIP file associated with this article so there's nothing the CP team can do. It's up to the article author to supply the file.

Seriously? Good grief. I don't see anything abusive in it. Hmm, it's a high rep user. I just counter voted with a 5 and it only took you to 3 points. Whoever did it was platinum level.

Cannot seem to get the "download now" icon to do what the name implies. I've tried IE 11, 10, 9, and latest Chrome and clicking the icon doesn't do an RSS "update" of my feed.

Hi all,
For me this is reproducible - when I try to edit the article:
Learn JavaScript Part 1 - Create a Starfield[^]
I get the 'aw snap' Chrome error. This is on a Macbook Air i7 x64, Chrome version 30.0.1599.101.
This also intermittently happens with another article I'm editing....

After adding an article to bookmark it should show as saved when we open same article. But its showing Bookmark instead of saved. I guess it should be saved so we know that its already bookmarked. Its creating confusion

Do we really need these forums?
Adobe Technologies[^]
Regular Expressions[^]* - Clickety[^]
Same way LINQ[^]*** I think LINQ guys won't agree to close this.
Here I mentioned Regular expressions & LINQ based on very less traffic there.
*In past, that forum was useful but nowadays we could use sites like www.regular-expressions.info[^] or tools like expresso[^]**
**This software developed by CP member, below are his articles on this.
Expresso - A Tool for Building and Testing Regular Expressions[^]
The 30 Minute Regex Tutorial[^]
***For LINQ, we could use tools like LINQPad[^]
New forums for:
Opensources****(Tools like iTextSharp, etc.,)
3rd party tools****(Tools like Telerik, etc.,)
Reporting/Charting tools(SSRS, Crystal reports, Oracle reports., ZedGraph, MS Chart, NPlot, Fusion chart.,)
These new forums possibly could reduce Q/A section traffic.
UPDATE
---------
Added strike for Regular expressions forum.

We certainly need the RegEx forum. We do direct people there from forums such as C# when they ask questions there.

Oops, I didn't think about this angle. Agree.

We already have the Free Tools forum.

My mistake, I should have mentioned details clearly. What I meant is, that forum for posting questions related to Opensources(another forum for 3rd party tools).
In Q/A section, I found more than bunch of questions related to DevExpress, iTextSharp, GoogleMap, Sap, Telerik, Infragistics, Obout, and many 3rd party tools. So those two forums could reduce Q/A traffic.
|
|
|
|

At least DevExpress, SAP, Telerik and most of the expensive 3rd party tols have their own community and professional support included in the license cost. No need to encourage people in their stupidity, I think where professional support is available the people shall use it. Otherwise we could open a forum for any software, and Chris could start billing the SW manufacturers for running their support.

Fair enough, I close this thread.

Actually my only thought was to reduce questions in Q/A section, pull the enquirers to forums which is CM's dream. Unfortunately I didn't think about other side of my ideas which Pete & you replied here.
Time to increase my creative thoughts & drop my garbage thoughts.

Is it?

Yep, I remember that but not recently may be 2 years ago. Not sure that's your dream but atleast you preferred

But I prefer to post questions in Q/A section because of easy navigation from profile page. Besides I could bring that again in recent list by updating the question.

Homeworks?
Sorry Ignore that. He mentioned here[^] clearly & here my opinion[^]. But forums are more suitable for discussions. And we could see questions category-wise based on forums. Enquirer don't need to tag question if he choose right forum . Besides I have seen only less reposts by enquirers in forums(comparing to Q/A section).

thatraja wrote: Enquirer don't need to tag question if he choose right forum And how many posters every day fail to do that? The problem with a site like this is that many people only come here occasionally and never bother to read the FAQs. So we continue to try and guide them, but for everyone who listens to that advice there comes a new member who does not see it.

Was going to ask this, too
On the other hand side he is against the custom CSS for our profile, cause it may lead to stuff like Rohan's profile[^]. But still, the custom CSS is there, and usable by people with all differences of taste.
