I also suggested this idea....

I want to see all MVC related articles on particular section. Now I could get those by using our search but want to see those all at a place. So please create a section for that. And other possible categories jQuery, HTML5*, [Windows 8, WinRT & Metro], etc.,**
*I found only less articles there[^]

If the other member has configured to allow others to send an email then an 'Email' link in their posts would be available. Or else, no way.

I would be careful having relations with other members here. People talk. Just saying...

Whenever someone tries to put the word URGENT into a post, it's filterd out by the site or the question isn't posted at all.

+5 ..better yet, give them their own icon; makes 'em happy because they feel important, makes us happy because we can ignore them. A soundex to filter out variations would be nice 2.

Quick Answers or Discussions?
How about we just give members the ability to close poor questions in the Discussions?

I go with your suggestion. After all, some people who are put right about using "urgent" may mend their ways and become productive members of the community.
One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

Assuming that on a Forum you have set the reading mode (Layout) to "Thread View."
Let's say you are reading a long article like Mehdi Gholam's superb 'fastJSON' article[^].
Now, you are reading the comments on the article: you open one of the comments, and, you click to open the comments on the comments: shazam: you are now at the top of the page again.
Or, now: you've read all the comments on the comment you "expanded," and, now: you click "View All Threads" to return to regular Thread View: shazam: you are at the top of the page again.
Now, maybe this is really picky-picky, because the "End" key on my keyboard will get me back to to the bottom of the page again. And, that's only one measly keystroke !
But, there is bigger problem related to the same Thread View behavior on articles with multiple pages of comments: try this:
1. go to page #4 of the comments on Mehdi's article
2. expand one of the comments with several responses
3. okay, you are at the top of the page again, no big deal: just hit the "End" key, and you are looking at the expanded original comment.
And, now: the nub of the rub:
4. click the "View All Threads" to return to collapsed view:
You are now back at the top of the page, but when you go to the end of the page: you are no longer on page #4 of the comments, but on page #1 of the comments.
What's the problem ? imho: the perceptual continuity of the reading process is disrupted.
So, ideas:
a. bias: I certainly would find it distracting to see the whole "set view" interface on every article, every Tip, etc.
b. Consider the behavior described in point #4, above, a bug, and fix it ? So: expanding the comment on an article will take you to the point in the article (at the bottom) where the expanded comments are, and collapsing the view will keep you on the same page of an article with multiple pages of comments.
c. Disable thread view outside of forums ?
best, Bill

I see an option for consuming a blog on CodeProject. Is there any way I can post my blog on CodeProject directly?
I don't want to manage another blog. I am very happy with CodeProject and want to post all my technical blogs here itself. Is there any way I can do that?

Oh i knew about that. My question was "Can I write my blog on codeproject itself?"

Sorry, I guess I mis-read your question. I'm not aware of such an option, but no doubt Chris or Sean can clarify it for you.

If you look at your profile, you will see that you can write blog entries there.

Yes you can. Click on your name (at the top right) to go to your profile. Under your profile pic is a "Create my blog" that will create a forum / blog at the bottom of your profile to allow you to post...whatever.
The only issue is we don't, at this point, allow image uploads or skinning.

Chris,
Thanks for your prompt reply. The reason I asked this question was I had an article which seems like not an "Article" from CodeProject Standards. It is also a little long for a tip. SO i was thinking that I should post it as a Blog.
The Blog post in my profile page perhaps is not the right place to post a technical blog(my opinion). So right now I posted it as a Tip only. Could you please check it and see if this Tip can be changed to an article or is it OK as a Tip only?

If I udnerstand you correctly, no there is no such option.
In my humble opinion, nor should there be. Is there really some need to have the exact same blog post show up multiple times on the web?

I noticed that the general programming forums (Not Q/A) only have abusive and spam as report items. Maybe, we could add not a question, as well.

The discussion forums are there specifically for discussions and do not require a post to be a question.
Would a "Unclear / Inappropriate" be more, well, appropriate?

gotcha
Chris Maunder wrote: Would a "Unclear / Inappropriate" be more, well, appropriate?
No. Now that I am clear that it is just a discussion forum, then having anything else would probably serve no real purpose. Thanks for the reply.
