Hi
There's something strange in the Message-List of the user Forum. if you click on the bottom's "Next" it will always show you the first page. and the top's Next Link gets you through the pages but if there aren't more posts (let's say you have only posted 140 messages) the last page will be and empty "latest posts" - page. the top link sets the page params to &pgnum1=3 and the bottom link sets the param to &pgnum2=2 and if you click one after the other you get both params added which tells you on top that you're on page 3 of 4 and on the bottom you're on page 2 of 4
greets

Why default of Message Type is for General on the forums like C++ users usually dont change icon of General to question and use of default.

"Answer" would be more appropriate while posting to C++ / MFC forums.

Paresh.

I think Chris Team should consider upgrading thier 404 error handlers at priority since a number of article links land up in a 404 and then suggest the nearest link.
These are, strictly speaking, not a 404 as of now. Optimistically viewing it since they have been upgraded to a newer URL pattern and hence the need of the hour is a neater and cleaner background URLRewrite.
Towards this and to address genuine 404s resulting from expired messages/articles, the current 404 handler may need to be considerably revisited.

Try again. The 404 handler was one of the first things we added.

When you mouse hover the cursor on the user profile icon next to the username in forums, you get a small tooltip like
CodeProject MVP
Supporter
SysAdmin.
Isn't it? These currently appear with incomplete texts like
mvp
admin
I would say it should mimic the same behavior as in Classic CP.

There was a problem when i tried to submit an article using the Article Submission Wizard. It occured in creating the article title page (Step 1 of 4, Naming and Setup). After entering all fields and clicking the "Next:Article Uploads>>" button, I got the following message:
"There was a problem creating your article."
I tried several times and got the same error message. I need help on this.
Thanks

Hi Chris and team...
When you reply to the original message in a long message thread (ie: a thread that goes over more than one page), you are taken to your reply after clicking Post Message, which (of course) is at the end of the thread. However, the paging control at the bottom of the page doesn't update, meaning you are still (according to the paging control) on page 1, even though you are on page 2. Clicking onto page 2 basically refreshes the page and fixes the control, allowing you to go back to page 1 if you wish.
Great work on the migration guys - hang in there!!

Hi, I'm experiencing problems whit the formating options in the message editor, i.e. selecting a text and clic in the "B" for bold text gives MessageBox:
Are you sure you want to leave the page.
You will lose any unsaved text. Is it Ok?.
If clic Ok it sends the message as it is.
The same hampens with all of them.
I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11 in Win XP sp2

The Coding Horrors and Subtle Bugs forums are not listed in the Message Boards list in the green title bar. This is probably related - when you are viewing either of these two forums, the three column list of all forums (the one where forums are in bold or normal type depending on whether there are new messages) does not appear between the forum name and the message area.

When replying to a message, the orignal message text in rendered in a blue box when you can highlight parts of the message and click "Quote Selected Text". The original message text can exceed the bounds of the blue box it's in. The last line may get clipped by the bottom of the box.
An example of this can be found here[^]. Try replying to this message.
Tested on IE6.0, medium text size. The window size does not make any difference in the rendering of the original message.

The Urls in last weeks email notifications do not work. I have like 10 threads from friday that I can't link back to and I can't manually find the threads because a page takes 5 minutes to load so I just left all those people hanging... that's just nasty bob.
CPHog is not working and I already installed the latest version

The Lounge appears to be inaccessible again as of ~15:00 GMT. I think some of the hamsters must have gone on strike. I can only recommend mediation and sunflower seeds and hope you can get them back to work soon.
[The sunflower seeds must have started to do the trick, the wheels are turning again as of ~15:40 GMT. Good luck with rounding up the rest.]
Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.

It is now 14:56 tuesday 04 december 2007 GMT
(15:56 local time in Antwerp, Belgium).
Some entries already show a 05 december 2007 date (e.g. my latest entries)
The hamsters, while running somewhat slow, took a head start somehow.
[modified: added this at 15:33 GMT in order to see CP modification time.
It says "December 04, 2007 10:32:39 AM" which could be OK]

Never noticed, but the warning not to post programming questions in the Lounge is in fact misleading. If one doesn't pay attention, one might actually think that the message is telling one to in fact post programming questions in the lounge. The problem is that "Post it here!" is a link, but looks like it's just a sentence displayed in a different color.
I would suggest displaying the following:
Got a Programming Question? Do not post it here!
Please post programming questions in the appropriate forums located at: http://www.codeproject.com/script/Forums/List.aspx[^]
Maybe, just maybe this will help avoid programming questions posted in the Lounge. Nah! No way.
