I always reply to design questions when I see them. They are very rare however. Almost as rare as the bunny-o-death in the "The Search for the Holy Grail" - Monty Python
Ususally someone posts a question like "how do I get access to controls in another form" or some such garbage and I provide a link to Wikipedia MVC page. But some other hacker replies with having a variable of the "other" form or some such garbage and it's off to the "Technical Debt" races at that point.

hmm that doesnt seem like a very good idea to me. instead, maybe have something like this...
thread one - some topic
thread two - some other topic
thread three - another topic
one after the other. clicking on them will load a new page or pop open a new tab. whatever.

We have that. At the top of each forum, there's a little combo box labeled "view". Open it and select "Thread View", then click the Set Options button.

This iste is great, but it is missing a few things. I have been a member for over 3 years, and it still has no ASM-16, ASM-32, Java, or J# sections. I'd have a lot to contribute to the ASM sections if they existed, as would many other programmers. I believe also that it would speed up the area of OS Developement, which is another section that should be implimented. Oh, and how about aprogramming / webdesign / game design contest once in a while?

If enough articles on a subject are submitted, then I'm sure a new section would be created.

If you search CP, there are a number of ASM articles. Just not enough to justify (or so it would seem) their own category. You can change that; I would be interested in an article or two on ASM.

I have been wondering, why doesn't CodeProject have a Java or J# forum? What about all those Java programmers out there, I think if CP added a forum for them, they would get a lot more site traffic.
And another idea, how about an Easter Egg forum? A place people can submit Easter Eggs that they have found. It's not any different than the Subtle Bugs forum. Right?
Well, that's just something that I would like to see on CP.

There is a java forum. It's hidden and only gets a handful of posts per month. It's hidden because CP is an MS centric site and java's a hostile technology. There are at most 2 J# programms in the world (1 is the MS J# compiler test author), so there's no point to a J# forum because it would go totally unused.

The forum got removed years ago because of lack of use. It isn't accessible by any of the menus, but if you know the forumid then you can still get to it. I don't think of it as hidden, but just waiting in the recycle bin.

Well, it's not like the Collaboration / Testing forum gets swarmed with usage. It only has like 10 posts. That forum should be removed if you ask me!

A little feature request.
Maybe it'll be good to have a Article Tracker - a distinct RSS feed (or an e-mail notification system) for every distinct article? So readers won't have to dive into the lengthy "new & updated articles" list on mondays, but instantly know when their favourite article gets updated...

What I'm proposing is a traker for a -distinct- article. For example, any can have a "Track this article" button, so, when article changes, the people who pressed it receive an e-mail "Article that you are tracking was updated".
By the way - this is a nice "voting" thing: article can have a meter "N people are tracking this article"...

It has certainly been asked for in the past. One of the problems was the volume of emails that would have to be sent, this would put even more strain on the CP servers.
I certainly think it would be a good enhancement, it would probably work better as an article RSS feed - or as a compromise, maybe an author RSS feed that would give an update when an author changed one of their articles.
