Earlier my C#/C++ benchmark article was messed up by smiley processing... that was fixed, but today I noticed a smiley in my 2010 article Symbols as extensible enums where the article said "colon ( " which is supposed to look like "colon ( : )" of course. I would suggest turning off smiley processing for all articles published before smileys were introduced (and allow authors to turn them off for new articles as well. I don't need 'em.)

no sir, when i clicked on vote 1 and told him to reframe the question but when he did and i don't know anything about the question. What should I do?

Vote 3. That should change your vote to neutral and he will get the points back that he lost when you voted 1.

As some people don't show interest in the question and without thinking votes the question 1. Please make a provision that at time of voting it is necessary to give a comment why it is being downvoted.

This has been suggested many times. Each time it is pointed out that the reason will probably just be random key presses and that many fake accounts will be created just to down vote.

He/she is a 1 month old member and is editing dan.g's TodoList article, is this a problem?

I was worried that with the recent upsurge in spammers in the QA forum one might have gotten to the articles, and strange that a long time article writer required article approval.
Thanks.

Related to this thing. Frequent 3 times[^]
When I tried to post a comment, it took more than few mins & got message similar like below
Quote: We have tried to add your comment 3 times without success. Our servers are just a little overworked. Sorry. But here my suggestion is provide an option to recover the comment. I have typed more than bunch of lines, submitted & got the above message. Finally lost the comment. There's no way to retrieve that. For answers it's not an issue because we could recover the contents of answer as the answer textbox in edit mode.
In past, I have faced this issue few times but couldn't reproduce the issue & I forgot to post this earlier.

Hi,
I don't know if this is esay to do but it would be nice.
The ones trying to keep CP clean using the Spam and Abuse forum, use to post the links to the user and the items that need to be cleaned.
Example:
Spammer: http://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/View.aspx?mid=10144976[^]
Answers: http://www.codeproject.com/script/Answers/MemberPosts.aspx?tab=answers&mid=10144976[^]
Messages: http://www.codeproject.com/script/Forums/Messages.aspx?fmid=10144976[^]
As you can see, the spam was already cleaned up. User is gone, total answers count is "0" but...
the list of the forum remains full with all 9 items, altough all got reported and are "automatically deleted".
I know that it has been already suggested to automatically clean up those messages, once they got deleted by the reports, and I know it is not so easy because the messages could have answers and so on, but...
Is it possible to check that deletion-flag while giving the result of the query and give only the ones that are still active?
There are very "prolific" spammers that make decens of posts before they get caught, and it is a time waste to go through the full list, just to find out that 90% of those messages are already banned. If the query only contains the active ones (as it happens in the lists of QA-items), then we can save a lot of time.
Thank you

I agree, this is a problem. It's good you raise it (and not just you).
I did not clealy understand the implementation you suggest, and I don't want to support or criticize any particular suggested design at this moment. I just think there are some possibilities to think about. I also think, at this moment, the best one would be the one which addresses this problem but is the most feasible to Chris Maunder.

Someone alredy asked about actually deleting the "automatically deleted" corpses, but I think that is more difficult.
What I suggest is to give the possibility to filter out the messages that already are "automatically deleted" from the list of the posted messages by a user.

I use ge.tt always for any file sharing.
Okay, as you suggest, I will use imgur or something like that.
Is there any advantage?
