John, I added the files to your article. You should be good to go now.

Did I do something wrong when I submitted the article? They used to be added automatically, and I never gave it a second thought.

There's a link at the side (above the listed files). If you check the checkboxes of the files you want to attach, and click this link (it says something like "include files in article"), this will include the relevant files.
I seem to remember that the files used to be added automatically but I no longer use the article wizard. I prefer to send my article over whole.

Hello codeproject-community,
in my company, internet access is only permitted via a proxy server that controls which URLs are allowed to access and which are not.
I'm lucky that codeproject is allowed!
But every now and then, I come across an interesting article on codeproject that contains images embedded from an external source, which is forbidden by our proxy.
This could make the article quite useless and it requires me to view it on my private PC at home.
So, I kindly ask all the codeproject authors to upload all their images to codeproject, which makes it easier for me (and maybe lots of other readers) to view the articles in their company environment.
It'll also help to keep the articles readable over time as external links may change or break.
Maybe codeproject could also show a warning, if somebody wants to add an "external image" to an article!
Thank you very much!
Max

I'm not suggesting that this is true in all cases but, where an article has images from another location, this is a pretty good indication that there's some plagiarism going on there (even if it's just the image). We take a very dim view of plagiarised content and look to remove it ASAP. However, there is an exception to this - if an article has been consumed from a blog then the images will still be sourced from the blog.

According to the guidelines, external images are not allowed and such article should not pass moderation - of course we are all human and make mistakes...
If you find such article you should report it (here[^] probably the best) and the issue will be handled...If it's a sign of wrongdoing - like Pete suggested it will be removed, if not it will be fixed...

Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?

I posted this[^] at the Lounge, but after found out, that it is not only me it may be a legal issue for the hamsters...

Do you have a link to this site? When I googled it, it was hard to decide which one it should be.

Whoah! Okay, definitely not me. Good catch.

There is one for Chris[^] and one for OG[^] and probably much more...

I guess it is using Google or Twitter handle details to pull data. OG's URL you mentioned changes to his G+ ID while Pete's changes to Twitter.
|
|
|
|
|
It's maybe that OG has no twitter on his CP profile page and Pete does have...I think the hamsters should investigate it in any case...
As I see the site want to trick you into claiming the ownership of that 'account' and start to pay for...

Yep. It seems like that.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

It basically looks like a search engine.

From what I can see they are a "Content Marketing Solution" (Whatever that means) and you have to pay to be a member. Having the profiles there without consent is a legal issue.

Brisingr Aerowing wrote: Having the profiles there without consent is a legal issue. Possibly. As far as I can tell, it's not very different than Google. It groups all related posts together just like a search engine and links to the CP link.

This blog post is quite the troublemaker... First it didn't show correctly: http://www.codeproject.com/suggestions.aspx?msg=5001844#xx5001844xx[^].
And now I've changed some pre tags so it shows how I want it to show, but now it got published as an article rather than a blog!
I've changed all my blogs in the series so they link to this newest one too, and only this one now shows up as an article.
This is the article/blog[^].

I've experienced this problem on two different Windows 8.1 machines running IE 11.
When creating a forum reply, if you highlight any text containing programming code and click "Quote Selected Text" , it responds "You did not select any text to quote" and fails to quote the text.
This problem does not appear in any other browser.
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

Has been around since the beginning of IE11 I believe.
It has been reported many times, [1], [2], [3] and [4] at least.
But if it can't be replicated I guess there's not much to do until someone with the right knowledge experiences the bug and sits down and does the necessary debugging.

It seems the "Layout" mode of a forum view is being ignored. The setting is correctly persisted, but the forum is always shown expanded. I need to click "Update" to reset the view to Thread Edit mode (which is my persisted preference). This applies to all forums.
