The two links in the article, Download source 8.3 MB and Download demo 293.3 KB actually download article_src When I unzip this, there is no .exe file to run and all of the file extensions look foreign to me. Windows 7 is unable to open the files.
How do I get the correct files and what operating system are they meant to be run on?
I want to run them on an old Windows XP computer that has a PCI-GPIB+ interface board. As this old beast cannot connect to the Internet I am not concerned about security issues.

What I have tried:

I have looked at the downloaded files with Windows 7

Try posting any questions you have about the download or comments about use at the end of the cp article page from which you've downloaded the code. Most authors will reply and sometimes, even if no straight dope comes from them, commenters provide the tweeks neccessary to get something to work from the default post if there's a version disconnect etc.

Please post your question in the forum at the end of the article so the author can help you.

[edit]
I have just found the article and downloaded the source and demo archives and both look to contain the expected files. The Article_demo.zip contains Snapshot.exe. No idea what you downloaded, or why you think the extensions look foreign.
