Could you give more details about what do you want?
When drop down list is refreshing you don't want that the page to refresh itself, this is what you want?

yes. when I select any item in drop down then I do not want page to get refreshed and and drop down autopostback is true ..i have tried in update panel but did not work..

Solution 1

The solution is to set Autopostabck property of your drop down to false (otherwise postabcks will be generated), then to use jQuery and AJAX to manage the current selected item actions from your drop down.
