I need a railway reservation system project

Hey guys,

I have been searching the net for a decent railway reservation project in turbo c 3.0 to teach my students, however most projects come up in the c++ format.
If anyone could possibly help by uploading or linking a good project with file handling, structures etc, it would be much appreciated

A strange request probably not suitable for this forum. If ever there was an application that was a good fit for c# or c++ this is it. I can only feel for your students. What about Visual Studio Express?

The format of the turboc 3.0 is highly different from visual studio, I'm afraid. However, railway is not a hard and fast topic. Anything goes as long as I am able to use it as an example to demonstrate certain principles. Thanks!

I do apologize if this is in the wrong section or does not belong here, but I am at the end of my tether in finding a project in turbo c, as most of them are turbo c++.

What is the point in teaching turbo-C to anyone? If your students aspire to a career in IT then they need to be taught something useful.

Well you really should go back to the people who made that decision (school or college?) and explain why it is a waste of everyone's time and money.

You're using a 22 year old compiler produced 7 years before the last completed language standard on a baroque architecture to create an application that doesn't play to the strengths of the language. What next? Device drivers for an IBM/360 in Fortran 66?

Teach them how to program on a Linux box if you want something that's cheap.

Shame you've got what's basic completely wrong.

Turbo C was a great little IDE and compiler back in the early 90s but it's completely useless now. You're doing your students no favours teaching them how to use it or all the bad habits they'll have to get into to use it effectively. If you think that C programming with 2 different pointer sizes, 4 variants of malloc and requiring the use of assembly language and esoteric command line switches to actually get large programs to work is "basic" then I've got a bridge you might be interested in buying.
