Problem in IIS Hosting

Hai,

I have to develop a wcf application for the iis hosting.In the visual studio 2008 after I entered into the file->new website->wcf service I select the location "http:".
But after that I can't enter into the service.After I clicked ok popup window appear like this.

"UNABLE TO CREATE THE WEB SITE "HTTP://LOCALHOST/IIS".THE WEB SERVER DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE FRONTPAGE SERVER EXTENSIONS INSTALLED.IF FRONT PAGE EXTENSIONS ARE INSTALLED, THIS ERROR CAN OCCUR BECAUSE THE_VTI_BIN VIRTUAL DIRECTORY IS NOT MARKED AS EXECUTABLE.TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM,RUN INTERNET INFORMATION SERVICES MANAGER,SELECT THE WEB SERVER THAT HAS THE PROBLEM,AND THEN USE CHECK SERVER EXTENSIONS COMMAND"

I already installed the IIS.I dono the problem of this.plz help me

Solution 1

You need to install FrontPage Extension on your server.

I believe, the error message itself clear stating the problem and solution for it.

how to install frontpage extension.Is there any link?

AFAIK, Frontpage Extension is a part of Windows Feature with is not installed by default.

Go to Control Panel and you can turn Windows Feature on or off.

Or try the suggestion in the error message:
"TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM,RUN INTERNET INFORMATION SERVICES MANAGER,SELECT THE WEB SERVER THAT HAS THE PROBLEM,AND THEN USE CHECK SERVER EXTENSIONS COMMAND"
