I have designed a report (using Crystal Reports for VS2013) for a receipt to be printed on a thermal printer with continuous paper. Now a receipt will need to have variable height according to the number of items it contains.
when i take print of SAP crystal report it wastes a lot of paper with receipt, the empty space is on top of receipt, although i have not let much space on report in design view.

I would really appreciate any help I can get on this problem.

Is you report designed multi-page?
As you are printing on continuous paper you better design a single page report...

No, its a roll paper

Did you try to print to a PDF file instead of the printer directly? You can install a PDF printer driver for that (like Cute PDF for example).

The result should be the same, but without using paper.
