i need a valid clickonce alternative.
A better alternative where it's possible select install folder, update application, obfuscate the project and sign it too.

Solution 1

I am using as alternative to Click Once, in Visual Studio 2010,the project of type "Setup Project".
This allows you to customize the installation folders, files, custom actions, lunch actions, registries and more. The result (after build) is two files: setup.exe and a .MSI file.

The Setup project is deprecated.

In my opinion they is is not depreciated, was just replaced with install shield (that is the same) but not free for complex tasks. Some complex installation tasks, like installing SSL certificates and windows services cannot be done without setup projects or install shields setup projects!
