Hi,

I would like to get the list of oracle host names whether it is local or lan network. For example for the connection string, I put the protocol as TCP and the port number as 1521 which is a default port number. I want to get the list of host names in oracle.

How to get the list> Please help

Yes, I tried, but unable to get the list of oracle host names whether it is local or network. I will be grateful to anyone who provide me the solution on how to getlocal and network host names

Oracle doesn't have a dynamic discovery method like SQL Server has. Any available Oracle servers that an application can user has to be defined in the TNSNAMES.ORA file on the client machine.

You might find this to be of interest:
LDAP and the Oracle Internet Directory[^]

Oracle has a dynamic discovery method, and they are providing a standards compliant LDAP server to provide it.

It's quite well documented here:
