how to show notification is read or not in asp.net c# like facebook

Hello..

I want to implement if notification is read or not.
means suppose i have 3 notifications and all are links. i read 1st notification and then the notification number should be 2 rather than 3. and the 1st one will not be display on notification window.

Please suggest how to solve this scenario.

Thanks a lot for your reply... Done with SignalR successfully to notify number of comments but want to decrease count of comments which is read by user. That means i want to implement functionality same as codeproject of Message NotificationCount. Please suggest any soltion.

I never knew there is a functionality like SignalR for this kind of problem.
I was thinking of doing that by Manually.
Such a fool was i !!!
