I am looking for an expert in 3D imaging format. Is this a good place for this and is it an appropriate site for this question. My apologies if I am out of line.

CP used to have a Jobs section but apparently it was taken down (I didn't know that until I checked just now). So well, there's no place on CP to ask this sort of thing. You could look for 3d articles and then try directly contacting those authors to see if any of them are willing to do some contract work.
